Conservation Act 1987

Freshwater fisheries - Indigenous freshwater fish

26ZHD: Director-General may authorise taking of indigenous fish by notice

You could also call this:

"Director-General can let you catch native fish outside national parks if you follow the rules."

The Director-General can give permission for you to take indigenous freshwater fish from areas outside national parks. You need to check the notice to see what kind of fish you can take and where you can take them from. The notice will also tell you how you can take the fish.

The Director-General can add conditions or restrictions to the permission. A notice about this is considered secondary legislation, which means it has to follow certain rules for publication, as outlined in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019. This helps make sure you know about the rules and can follow them.
