Immigration Act 2009

Core provisions and matters in relation to decision making - Immigration instructions

23: Immigration instructions classified as residence instructions, temporary entry instructions, or transit instructions

You could also call this:

“Rules for classifying different types of immigration instructions”

The Minister must sort immigration instructions into three types. These types are residence instructions, temporary entry instructions, and transit instructions. The Minister can also label some temporary entry instructions as restricted.

It’s important to know that temporary entry instructions are not the same as residence instructions. This is true even if following the temporary entry instructions might help you get a residence class visa later on.
