271: Payment to counsel assisting the court or special adviser

You could also call this:

“Payment for special helpers in immigration cases”

The Tribunal or court can decide how much to pay certain people who help with special cases. These people are called ‘counsel assisting the court’ and ‘special advisers’. They are appointed to help with specific cases under different sections of the law.

When the Tribunal or court decides how much to pay, they will make an order. This order will say how much money should be given to these helpers.

After the order is made, the person in charge of records at the Tribunal or court (called the Registrar) will send a copy of it to the head of a government department. This department is mentioned in another part of the law called ‘clause 5 of Schedule 2’.

The head of the department will then arrange for the payment to be made. The money for this payment comes from funds that Parliament has set aside for this purpose.
