Immigration Act 2009

Miscellaneous provisions - Matters relating to chief executive

383: Chief executive may designate places outside New Zealand where entry permission may be granted

You could also call this:

“Chief executive can select overseas locations for pre-travel entry permission”

The chief executive can choose places outside of New Zealand where you can get permission to enter the country before you travel there. These places might be ports, airports, or overseas offices of the Department. The chief executive can also decide which groups of people can get entry permission at these special places.

When the chief executive picks a place like this, they have to tell everyone about it. They do this by writing a description of the place and making it available for free. You can find this description at Department offices and at New Zealand Government offices in other countries that deal with immigration.
