378: Special directions
or “Minister can make special rules for immigration in unusual situations”

You could also call this:

“Immigration officers must follow relevant special directions when making decisions”

If you’re an immigration officer making decisions or using your judgement under this Act, you need to follow any special directions that apply. These special directions must be relevant to the decision you’re making and must be in effect at the time you make your decision. This rule helps make sure that immigration officers are following the most up-to-date and applicable guidelines when they do their job.
