Immigration Act 2009

Detention and monitoring - Special provision where epidemic management notice in force

340: Application of section 320 during epidemic

You could also call this:

“Changes to immigration conditions allowed during epidemics”

When there’s an epidemic management notice in effect, you and an immigration officer can agree to change a condition that was set under section 320. You can do this even if the original order doesn’t say you can, and you don’t need a judge’s permission to make the change. You just need to write down your agreement.

If the epidemic notice only applies to certain parts of New Zealand, then you can only make these changes if you’re in those parts of the country.
