“Spreading false information about immigrating to New Zealand is illegal”

If you publish or spread information about immigration to New Zealand that you know is not true or is misleading, you are breaking the law. This applies if you are trying to encourage, convince, discourage, or stop any person or group of people from immigrating to New Zealand. It’s also illegal if you make someone else publish this false or misleading information. This is considered an offence against the Immigration Act.
