Immigration Act 2009

Visas - Classes of visa - Transit visas

86A: Obligation of transit passenger

You could also call this:

“Transit passengers must stay in designated areas during their transit period”

When you are a transit passenger, you have to follow certain rules during your transit period. You must stay in one of three places: on the vehicle you arrived on, in a special area for immigration control, or with the Police if they are holding you.

If you don’t follow these rules and go somewhere else, your transit period ends right away. This means that section 115(1)(f) of the law will apply to you.
