Immigration Act 2009

Repeals, transitional provisions, saving provisions, and related matters - Transitional and savings provisions - Miscellaneous provisions

459: Children to have responsible adult to represent their interests

You could also call this:

“Children must have an adult to look after their interests in immigration matters”

If someone was chosen as a responsible adult for a child under section 141B of the old law, they will now be treated as if they were chosen under section 375 of the new Immigration Act 2009. This means that the new law will apply to them, with any changes that might be needed. This is important because it helps make sure that children always have an adult looking out for their interests when dealing with immigration matters.
