“Rules and restrictions for people with limited visas”

When you have a limited visa, you must leave New Zealand by the day your visa runs out. You can’t ask for a different kind of visa while you’re in New Zealand, even after your limited visa has ended. You also can’t ask for special permission to stay or apply for a visa under section 61. You’re not allowed to appeal against decisions about your visa, except in some cases under section 194 or section 195. Your limited visa will always have rules about what you can do while you’re in New Zealand, based on why you were given the visa.
