399A: International visitor conservation and tourism levy
or “Fee for visitors to help protect New Zealand's environment and support tourism”

You could also call this:

“Government must consult and review the visitor levy for tourism and conservation”

When the government wants to make new rules about the international visitor conservation and tourism levy, they need to ask people what they think first. The Minister must talk to anyone they believe should have a say. But this doesn’t apply to the very first set of rules they make about this levy.

Every five years or less, the Department has to look at how much the levy is or how they work out the amount. They do this to make sure it’s still fair and makes sense.

If you want to know more about what the international visitor conservation and tourism levy is, you can look at section 399A.
