“Rules for cancelling a resident visa if you haven't entered New Zealand yet”

If you have a resident visa and haven’t come to New Zealand yet, the Minister or an immigration officer can cancel your visa. They can do this if:

  1. You got the visa while you were outside New Zealand, and
  2. You no longer meet the rules that were in place when you applied for the visa.

If they cancel your visa, they must tell you about it in writing.
