This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Emergency Management Bill (No 2)

Emergency management system role-holders - Regional role-holders - Emergency Management Committees

23: Emergency Management Committees

You could also call this:

"Groups that help in emergencies will keep working and follow special rules."

Illustration for Emergency Management Bill (No 2)

If this proposed law comes into effect, groups that already exist to manage emergencies will keep working as Emergency Management Committees. They will follow certain rules outlined in clauses 9(1)(a) and (b) and 11 of Schedule 1. You can find these rules at clauses 9(1)(a) and (b) and 11 of Schedule 1. When local government elections happen, some rules in the Local Government Act 2002 will not apply to these Emergency Management Committees. Specifically, Clause 30(5) or (7) of Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 2002 will not affect them.
