You will have a Regional Recovery Manager for your area's Emergency Management Committee. The Committee can choose the unitary authority's chief executive for this role if they are suitable. If not, the chief executive must choose someone else who is qualified. You need a Regional Recovery Manager to help with emergencies. The chief executive must also choose someone to fill in if the Regional Recovery Manager is away. This fill-in person must be qualified to do the job. The chief executive has to make sure there is always someone to act as Regional Recovery Manager. This is so someone is always available to help with emergencies in your area.
