Illustration for Emergency Management Bill (No 2)

If a state of emergency is declared, you will know when and where it applies. The declaration must include the time and date it is made and the areas affected. It must also follow the rules about what it should look like and how it should be written. You will be told about the declaration as soon as possible through various means of communication. The declaration will also be published in the Gazette and on a website. This website will be maintained by either the Director-General or the responsible Emergency Management Committee, depending on who made the declaration. The person making the declaration can include any other information they think is relevant. They must notify the public immediately and publish the declaration as soon as possible.
