If a big emergency happens, an Emergency Management Committee can help. You might see them rescuing people and taking them to safe areas. They can also set up first aid posts to help people who are hurt. They can provide food, clothing, and shelter to people who need it. They might also need to deal with dead bodies or animals to keep everyone healthy. The Committee can control traffic on land, air, and water to make sure everything runs smoothly. They can provide equipment and facilities to help with the emergency. You might receive information and advice from them to help you stay safe. The Committee can also make contracts with people to help with the emergency. When making decisions, the Committee must follow any directions given by the Minister or the Director-General.
