This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

If a proposed law is passed, you will see changes to how emergency management plans are reviewed. An Emergency Management Committee must review its plan every 5 years or when the Minister tells them to. They can also review the plan at any other time. After a review, the Committee can decide to change the plan, replace it, or keep it the same. They must make this decision at a meeting and follow certain steps first, like talking to the community and notifying the public. The Committee must also send their proposal to the Minister for comment and direction, as outlined in section 97, section 94, section 95, and section 96. Other reviews do not affect the need for a 5-year review. A proposal means a suggested change to or replacement of the plan, or a plan to keep it the same.
