Illustration for Emergency Management Bill (No 2)

If your property is taken over, you want to know who pays you back. This part of the proposed Emergency Management Bill explains who is responsible for paying you. You can find out more about when you get paid back in section 191. If your property is controlled by the National Controller or a constable, the Crown pays you. The Crown uses money that Parliament has set aside for this purpose. If your property is controlled by an Emergency Management Committee, a Regional Controller, or a Local Controller, the Committee pays you. But if your property is controlled by a District Controller, the territorial authority pays you.
