If the Minister changes the regional emergency management planning standards under section 100, this section applies. You need to know the Minister does not have to follow the usual process in section 101 if they are making changes for certain reasons. The Minister can make changes to align with a New Zealand Standard, or to fulfil international obligations, among other reasons. The Minister must think about whether they should follow the usual process before making changes for these reasons. They must also publish their reasons for making the changes on a website that the public can access. This helps you understand why the changes were made. The Minister can make minor changes or correct errors without following the usual process. They can also make changes to remove parts of the standards that are no longer needed due to changes in legislation. You can find more information about New Zealand Standards in section 4 of the Standards and Accreditation Act 2015.
