Corrections Act 2004

Corrections system - Miscellaneous - Management of prisons

199A: Delegation of powers and functions of contractor

You could also call this:

"Contractors running prisons must follow some government rules to help them manage the prison."

When a contractor runs a prison, some rules from the Public Service Act 2020 apply. You can find these rules in clauses 2 to 4 of Schedule 6 of the Public Service Act 2020. These rules work as if the contractor was in charge of a government department.

The contractor and their staff must follow these rules, just like government employees do. This is also subject to section 10 of the Corrections Act. The rules help the contractor manage the prison.
