Corrections Act 2004

Transitional provisions - Directions restricting right to associate continue in effect

224: Directions restricting right to associate to continue

You could also call this:

"Rules about directions that limit who you can associate with will still apply for a little while."

If you have a direction that was given under section 7(1A) of the Penal Institutions Act 1954, it will keep being in force when this new section starts. You can find out how it will work from section 7(1C) of that Act. The direction can also be cancelled under section 7(1B) of that Act. If you have one of these directions, it will stop being in force three months after this new section starts, no matter what the other rules say. This means that after three months, the direction will expire, even if it was supposed to keep being in force.
