56Information about reasons for transfer

  1. A prisoner who is transferred from one prison to another under section 53(1) may ask the manager of the prison from which the prisoner was transferred to specify the reasons for the prisoner's transfer.

  2. A request under subsection (1) must—

  3. be in writing; and
    1. be forwarded to the manager within 1 month after the prisoner has been transferred to the other prison.
      1. Reasonably promptly, and in any case no later than 1 month, after receiving a request under subsection (1), the manager must inform the prisoner, in writing, of the reasons for the prisoner's transfer.
