If a court decides you should get compensation under section 185, the court's Registrar must tell the chief executive about it. You will get the compensation money from different sources depending on the situation of the person who escaped. If the escaper was in a contract prison, the contractor who managed that prison pays you, but if the escaper was with a security officer, the security company that employed the officer pays you.

If neither of these situations applies, you get the money from a Crown Bank Account, which is funded by Parliament. The court's decision is based on section 185, and the payment process follows specific rules. You receive the compensation according to these rules, which are in place to ensure you get the money you are owed.
