Corrections Act 2004

Corrections system - Establishment and operation of prisons - Living conditions

82: Accommodation generally

You could also call this:

"Rules for Prison Accommodation"

The chief executive must make sure that each type of accommodation in a corrections prison meets all the requirements in the regulations. These requirements are about what items and facilities should be in each type of accommodation, and what standards they should meet. You can find more information about these requirements in the regulations made under this Act.

The chief executive does not have to follow this rule for accommodation that is already covered by section 61. This means that some types of accommodation have their own special rules that the chief executive must follow instead. The chief executive still has to make sure that all accommodation in corrections prisons is safe and meets the necessary standards.
