Illustration for Corrections Act 2004

If you are searched using imaging technology instead of a rub-down search or strip search, some rules do not apply. This is because the imaging technology is used as an alternative to a rub-down search under section 98B(2) or a strip search under section 98F. You can only be searched by an officer or constable of the same sex as you. When imaging technology is used to search you, the images can only be viewed by an officer or constable of the same sex as you. The images cannot be viewed by another prisoner.
