Corrections system - Coercive powers - Searching of prisoners and other persons

92A: Meaning of scanner search for purposes of this Act

You could also call this:

"What a scanner search means and how it's done"

When you are searched using a scanner, it means a device is used to check you and your things for items you are not allowed to have. This device can check inside your body, under your clothes, or in your belongings. It can also measure your body temperature.

If you are having a scanner search, the person doing the search might ask you to remove some of your clothes or things you are wearing, like your jacket or shoes. They might also ask you to follow some other steps to help with the search. This is so they can do the search properly.
