Illustration for Corrections Act 2004

If you are a contractor managing a prison, you can give some of your responsibilities to someone else, but only if the chief executive agrees in writing. The chief executive can say yes, but also add conditions that you and the subcontractor must follow. If the chief executive agrees and you give some of your responsibilities to a subcontractor, the subcontractor must follow the same rules as you, including the rules in the Corrections Act 2004, any regulations made under this Act, and any instructions or guidelines issued by the chief executive under section 196.
