You need to know what a parenting agreement is when a mother is in prison. A parenting agreement must include some important things, such as the mother being responsible for her child's care while in prison. The agreement also needs to identify someone else who can care for the child if needed. You will have to agree to the chief executive providing parenting information and support to the mother. This includes making sure the child gets necessary health checks and treatment. The mother must also agree to attend parenting programmes and get any treatment she needs to care for her child. The mother's agreement must be in the best interests of the child. This means she must do things like attend programmes and co-operate when it is time for her to be separated from her child. The chief executive must also agree to help the mother get the support she needs to care for her child.
