The prison manager is in charge of the prison they work at. You can think of the prison manager like the principal of a school, but instead of a school, they are in charge of a prison. The prison manager has to make sure the prison runs according to the rules set out in section 5 and section 6.

The prison manager has to keep prisoners safe and make sure they are well looked after. They also have to do the jobs given to them by section 33.

The prison manager has to find out which communities are affected by what happens at the prison, and give those communities a chance to say what they think about it, then they have to think about what those communities said. The prison manager can also do other jobs that are given to them by the law or by rules made under the law.
