The New Zealand Law Society can decide on fees you must pay to become a barrister and solicitor. You pay these fees when you want to be admitted or have your name put back on the roll of barristers and solicitors. The Society can only set these fees if the Minister agrees to them. The Society's decision on fees is called secondary legislation, which has its own rules for publication, as outlined in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019. You should look at this law to understand how the fees are set and what you need to do to become a barrister and solicitor or have your name restored to the roll.
