175: Notice of execution of warrant

You could also call this:

"What happens when police execute a search warrant at your place"

Illustration for Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006

You need to know what happens when a warrant is executed. If you are not at the place when the warrant is executed, the person doing it must leave a note. The note must say when the warrant was executed, the person's name, and where you can find them. If things are taken from the place, the person must leave a list of what was taken or send it to you within 10 working days. You can find more information about warrants in section 172. When a warrant is executed, the person doing it might take some things. They must then tell you what they took, either by leaving a note or sending you a list.
