You are protected if you are part of the New Zealand Law Society or the New Zealand Society of Conveyancers. You will not be in trouble with the law for things you do as part of your job, unless you do something on purpose to hurt someone. This means you can do your job without worrying about getting in trouble, as long as you are doing the right thing. You should know that this protection does not change what is said in section 272. This is a special rule to keep you safe while you are working. It is like a shield to protect you from getting in trouble.
