You need to follow some rules if you are a conveyancing practitioner. The New Zealand Society of Conveyancers makes practice rules for you. These rules say what you must learn to get a practising certificate. You must meet educational criteria to get a practising certificate. The rules also recognise foreign qualifications, registration, and experience. You may need to keep learning about the law or conveyancing to stay certified. The rules can say when and how often you must learn. They can also say what topics you must learn about. Some conveyancing practitioners may not have to follow all the rules, depending on their situation, as stated in section 94.
