You need to follow practice rules made by the New Zealand Law Society when it comes to conditional fee agreements. The New Zealand Law Society can set rules that say what a lawyer must do when making a conditional fee agreement, like giving you information before you agree to it. This can be different depending on the type of conditional fee agreement, such as ones with a success fee or not, as outlined in section 334(1)(c).
