159: Power to notify Registrar-General of Land

If a Standards Committee makes a certain decision, they can tell the Registrar-General of Land about it. You can find out what kind of decision this is by looking at section 152(2)(a) or (b). The Standards Committee will only do this if they think it will help the Registrar-General do their job under the Land Transfer Act 2017. If the decision is about something serious, the notice must say what the decision is and include a copy of the charge. You can find out more about the charge by looking at section 154. If the decision is about something else, the notice must follow the rules in section 158(2).

159Power to notify Registrar-General of Land

  1. If a Standards Committee makes a determination of the kind described in section 152(2)(a) or (b), that Standards Committee may give written notice of the making of the determination to the Registrar-General of Land if the Standards Committee considers that the giving of notice of the making of that determination to the Registrar-General is or may be relevant to the discharge by the Registrar-General of his or her duties under the Land Transfer Act 2017 or any other enactment.

  2. If the determination is of the kind described in section 152(2)(a), the notice must—

  3. state the determination; and
    1. contain a copy of the charge laid before the New Zealand Disciplinary Tribunal in accordance with section 154.
      1. If the determination is of the kind described in section 152(2)(b), the notice must comply with section 158(2) as if it were a notice given under section 158(1).
