You are a member of the New Zealand Law Society. The Council can ask you to pay a subscription. This subscription helps fund the Society's work. The Council decides how the subscription is paid. You might have to pay the subscription with other members. Or you might pay with a specific group of members. You could also pay based on where you work in New Zealand. The Council can decide that different members pay different amounts. This could be based on the type of member you are or where you work. You pay the subscription in a way that the Society's rules say is okay. If you do not pay, the Society can ask for the money as a debt.
