The New Zealand Society of Conveyancers has rules for registering conveyancers. You must meet certain criteria to be registered as a conveyancer. The rules say what these criteria are. The rules also cover things like postponing or refusing registration. They say how to impose conditions on a registration. You have to pay fees for registration and applications. The rules make sure the register is correct and open to the public. They help ensure conveyancers are qualified to work in New Zealand. The rules can recognise foreign qualifications and experience. The New Zealand Society of Conveyancers can appoint officers and committees. They can prescribe forms and delegate functions. You can appeal against decisions made under the rules. The rules are secondary legislation, which means they have to be published in a certain way, as outlined in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
