Child Support Act 1991

Court maintenance orders made after 1 July 1992

71: Period for which money payable under this Act

You could also call this:

“How long you need to pay child support for”

When money is payable under this Act because of a court order, you need to know when it starts and stops. The payment period begins on the later of two dates: either 1 July 1992 or the day the order starts working. It ends on whichever comes first: the day the order stops working, or the day someone chooses to stop it using section 70. This rule applies to court orders made after 1 July 1992 for child support.
