Child Support Act 1991

Transitional and savings provisions - Enforcement of liable parent contributions payable before 1 July 1992

257: Saving in respect of assignment of accident compensation

You could also call this:

“Rules about accident compensation payments stay the same”

Even though section 241 of this Act says something different, section 89 of the Accident Compensation Act 1982 doesn’t change how section 27Y of the Social Security Act 1964 works. This is important because section 27Y is used as part of section 256 of this Act. This means that the rules about accident compensation assignments stay the same as they were before, even with the new Child Support Act.
