Child Support Act 1991

Enforcement provisions

178: Mode of recovery of unpaid financial support

You could also call this:

“How the government can collect money you owe for child support”

If you owe money for financial support, penalties, or other charges under this law, the Commissioner can collect it for the government. The Commissioner can do this by taking legal action in their official name. They can also treat the money you owe like a decision made by the District Court in a civil case. This means they have different ways to make you pay what you owe.
