When the Commissioner receives money for child support, they put it into a special bank account called a Crown Bank Account. This is where all the money for child support is kept.

Sometimes, the government needs to take money out of the Crown Bank Account and put it into another account called the Child Support Trust Bank Account. They do this to make sure there’s enough money to pay for things related to child support.

The money in the Child Support Trust Bank Account is used to make payments for child support. These payments are described in sections 141 to 145 of the law.

You don’t need to worry about getting permission to move money between these accounts. The law says it’s okay to do this without asking anyone else first.

140Payments into, and out of, Child Support Trust Bank Account

  1. All amounts received by the Commissioner pursuant to this Act shall be paid into a Crown Bank Account.

  2. There shall be paid into the Child Support Trust Bank Account out of a Crown Bank Account without further appropriation than this section such amount as is necessary to meet the payments required to be made under sections 141 to 145.

  3. The money standing to the credit of the Child Support Trust Bank Account shall be applied in making payments under sections 141 to 145.
