Payment of financial support - Payments by Commissioner

144: Payment of lump sum and other child support

You could also call this:

“How money from court orders for child support is handled and given to caregivers”

If the Commissioner receives money from a court order made under section 109, or from an order covered by Part 4 that’s about paying for a child’s support, they must give that money to the person who takes care of the child. This is done according to the rules in this part of the law.

The Commissioner doesn’t count this money when they’re working out other child support payments under sections 142 or 143.
