Child Support Act 1991

Assessment of child support and domestic maintenance - Provisions relating to making of assessments

80: Assessments for part of child support year

You could also call this:

“How child support is calculated for part of a year”

When figuring out how much child support or domestic maintenance you need to pay for part of a year, the government treats it as if it were a full year. They do this by pretending that the start and end dates of the shorter period are actually the start and end of a whole year. This helps them work out the right amount you should pay, even if it’s not for a full 12 months.
