Child Support Act 1991

Transitional and savings provisions - Miscellaneous provisions

271: Assessment activity under Social Security Act 1964 to cease from 16 March 1992

You could also call this:

“After 15 March 1992, parents paying child support don't need to report their income for social security”

From 16 March 1992, some changes were made to how parents who need to pay child support are treated under the Social Security Act 1964. If you are a parent who needs to pay child support and you get a notice about a benefit after 15 March 1992, you don’t have to tell the Director-General of Social Welfare about how much money you make anymore. Also, after 15 March 1992, the Director-General of Social Welfare doesn’t have to figure out how much money you make each week or calculate how much you should contribute.
