Child Support Act 1991

Collection of financial support - Due dates for payment of financial support

133: Alteration to first due date where notice of assessment issued

You could also call this:

“Changing when you start paying child support after getting a notice”

When the Commissioner sends you a notice about how much financial support you need to pay, you have some time to make your first payment. You can pay on the original due date or 30 days after you get the notice, whichever is later. This gives you extra time if you need it.

This rule doesn’t apply if the Commissioner changes your assessment later on. In that case, different rules apply.
