Child Support Act 1991

Exemptions - Miscellaneous provisions concerning exemptions

89ZD: Liable person liable for payment of financial support for parts of child support year to which exemption does not apply

You could also call this:

“You must pay child support for parts of the year when your exemption doesn't apply”

If you are granted an exemption from paying child support for part of a year, you still need to pay for the rest of the year. The Commissioner will work out how much you need to pay for the parts of the year that are not covered by the exemption. This means you are responsible for paying child support during the times when your exemption doesn’t apply.
