If the Commissioner issues a formula assessment before 1 July 1992, it is treated as if it comes into force on the day the Commissioner issues it. This applies to sections 104 and 108 of the Child Support Act 1991. These sections are about departure orders and lump sum orders. A departure order changes the amount of child support someone has to pay. A lump sum order is when someone pays child support as one big payment instead of regular smaller payments.
