Child Support Act 1991

Transitional and savings provisions

253: No liability to pay financial support under this Act until 1 July 1992

You could also call this:

“Child support payments don't start until 1 July 1992”

You don’t have to worry about paying or getting money for child support under this law before 1 July 1992. This means that until that date:

You don’t have to pay any money for child support under this law.

You can’t receive any money for child support under this law.

Nobody can take money from someone who owes child support payments.

This rule applies to every part of the law, even if other parts seem to say something different.
