Child Support Act 1991

Exemptions - Miscellaneous provisions concerning exemptions

89ZC: Exempted person must advise Commissioner of certain matters

You could also call this:

“People who don't have to pay child support must tell the government about money changes”

If you are a person who has been given an exemption from paying child support, you need to tell the Commissioner about certain things. You must do this as soon as you can if any of these things happen:

You get any money that changes how the exemption works for all or part of the time you were given the exemption.

You get more money than you said you would when you asked for the exemption.

You find out that the exemption doesn’t work for all or part of the time you were given it.

If any of these things happen, you have to tell the Commissioner right away.
