If you are taking care of a child who qualifies for child support and you receive an unsupported child's benefit, this law applies to you in a child support case. It says that you must answer questions in court if asked. You can be made to give evidence for the Commissioner against the parent who should pay child support. You can also be made to give evidence for that parent against the Commissioner. This rule applies even if other laws might say you don't have to give evidence. The law treats you as someone who must answer questions in court about child support matters, no matter what other rules might say.
